I'm passionate about what I do and although online teaching and learning is very important in this day and age, presenting workshops and keynotes face to face is where I really come alive.
Simple as that.
Nothing lights me up more than seeing light bulbs go off in my clients' heads and having that happen right there infront of me is why I do what I do - that energy, and the reward I get from energising a room full of passionate professionals is what lights me up and keeps me going.

Need a guest speaker, MC or workshop presenter?
Well that's a happy coincidence! My favourite part of the work I do is doing guest appearances on live podcasts, and speaking at events. I use the 20 years of stories I have from being on the road, living and working with other 85 different cultures, to weave real life experience and anecdotes into the theory, demonstrations and practical applications that make up the learning experiences your audience can benefit from.
Following you can find examples of the conferences I've delivered at, the professional awards I've won, and where I've been published, both in the academic and small business worlds. If you're looking for a bio or headshot for a media release, you'll find these at the bottom of this page.

Professional Awards
PTCWA Professional Service Award 2016:
"Since joining WATESOL in 2012, Maria has held the role of Executive Officer and more recently, Vice President. In both roles, she has excelled, applying her project management skills and technological expertise to update our website and branding, streamlining association procedures and improve communications.
Through her knowledge of systems and structures, boundless enthusiasm and energy, she has encouraged the association to invest in innovating for a better future. For example, she has managed the creation of a Roles and Procedures Handbook to ensure smoother handover to new office bearers. This has evolved from the organisation not having clear guidelines or direction for handover when committee members vacate positions.

Maria has been generous with her knowledge, running training sessions and creating instruction manuals and videos to teach committee members how to carry out activities such as editing the website and uploading content. Although her goal has been to make us autonomous, she never says no to a request for help, giving hours of her own time to support other in their roles.
Throughout all of this, Maria has maintained a positive outlook and fabulous sense of humour, with a dedicated focus on networking and building a stronger professional association."

Episode 127 - 'Keeping promises to yourself with Maria Doyle'
When I started on this entrepreneurial adventure I told myself “if in 5 years’ time I can’t make it work, I can always go and get a job”. Once I realised I needed to let go of the idea of there being a formula to follow, I was able to see that I’d been going in the wrong direction, trying to build a business based on the wrong things, overriding my own intuition. This realisation freed me and the result – a beautiful, bountiful thriving business that supports me just as much as I support my clients all around the world.
In this episode of Your Next Chapter, we discuss how I learnt to trust my gut, let go of the opinions of others, and discover the most important thing you can do in business. Listen to the podcast here.

Interview on 'Sanity, Productivity & Working From Home'
It's an insanely challenging time for a lot of us; having lived on a remote coral atoll for 2.5 years, and working from home for 7 years now, I'd say I have an honorary 'PhD' in isolation and even I am struggling at the moment. So don't beat yourself up if you're finding this time difficult!
After having a really positive and confirming conversation about how we were coping with my good friend and psychologist Nikki Smith, about managing expectations in the current climate - and staying sane, we decided to record it for you.
This chat is a mix of our anecdotal and lived experience, with some framing from Nikki's work as a psychologist. In this 30min chat we cover a few topics, including how to:
- keep your perspective,
- stay sane,
- define your productivity in this new environment,
- manage your expectations &
- be realistic about what you can and can’t do.

'What to consider before digitalising your learning content'
More and more so, organisations and professionals are seeing the benefits of digitalising their intellectual property (IP), but regardless of what the learning content is, it’s imperative that the delivery and user experience is up to scratch – if not, the benefits of digitalising the content are lost, and the learners can be even less engaged as they would have been in a face to face setting.

If you’re delivering professional development or training to adults, you’ll want to make sure it’s going to work effectively for all your learners – if you don’t have extensive experience or qualifications in education and training, you may be a bit confused about learning styles and whether you should still be trying to cater for them all or not. One of 6 guest experts who presented on the 2017 Roooar Summit. In this session you learned how to:
- systemise your knowledge and expertise so you don't keep recreating the wheel
- leverage your time by creating a range of learning products from the same content
- choose which learning products and services are best for you and your clients
- create a library of content which can be used over and over

A conversation about burnout and the importance of self care. We talk about my experience with burnout, the lessons I learned after suffering multiple organ failure and the power of personal growth. We also discuss how teaching tends to attract nurturers and carers who just want to serve but often end up over-giving, and the way that approach undermines effectiveness and our ability to serve in the long run. I share how I moved from being a workaholic perfectionist, to someone who prioritises self care and serves now only from a 'full cup'.

Why did she start her own business?
“When I started learning about running my own business I was appalled with the quality of unregulated online training - I decided I wanted to help turn that around.
