How is AI changing education and training?

I was recently interviewed by Skills Strategies International (SSI), about how AI is changing the game in education and training – who is Sandra and SSI?

Since 1992, Skills Strategies International has been a leader in vocational education and training Perth, providing comprehensive business development services across both corporate and public sectors. I originally approached the Director – Sandra Robinson – in about 2014, after a colleague suggested she’d be the right RTO to partner with if I wanted to create a certification that would rival or at least ‘fill in the gaps’ in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. They were right, she was definitely the right RTO to partner with!

Sandra’s teaching team at our ‘Everyone’s a Teacher’ workshop

We’ve worked on a few projects together now – in Fiji (Leadership for Principals in Primary and Secondary Schools), ‘Everyone’s a Teacher’ workshops for her staff, and we are now working on a Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) which will be rolling out later this year.

Working hard in Fiji

Sandra has always been at the forefront of changes affecting education and training, and she’s just run an ‘AI in Industry’ conference in Perth, Western Australia. This podcast series interviews leaders in the AI in education space, and in this conversation, I speak with one of her staff – Evan Chelios, about teaching with AI, learner engagement, and why, no matter how much technology changes, real learning still starts with understanding the human in front of you.
