If meetings, presentations or training courses in your organisation are lacking lustre, you’ll likely resonate with these common struggles:

A way forward is possible – and the solutions aren’t as complicated as you might think.

This workshop is ideal for corporate, government and not-for-profit teams who want their group sessions, presentations, briefings or internal training to be genuinely engaging and impactful. Content is tailored to your specific organisational context, helping you strengthen how your team connects, communicates and transfers knowledge. This workshop is most commonly delivered privately within organisations, though a limited number of public workshop spots are also available if you’d like to experience it firsthand before booking your team in. You can join the waitlist to be notified of upcoming public workshops.

The Workshop: Everyone's a Teacher

How to make learning fun and memorable.

To teach is to be human. Whether you’re helping your child tie shoelaces, your gran with her new phone, or a boardroom of executives online or face to face: if you have knowledge or skills that someone else doesn’t, and you want to help them learn, you are a teacher.

We’ve all been learners in situations where we’ve felt dumb, bored, or thoroughly confused, and most of us are lucky enough to have had teachers who have made learning fun and memorable for all the right reasons.

What type of teacher, trainer, facilitator, presenter or leader do you want to be?

This workshop demonstrates practical, time proven tips, tricks and strategies to ensure teaching and learning in any context is effective, memorable and immediately applicable, including how inclusivity can bolster the facilitation of learning.

Do you need this workshop?

If your meetings, presentations or training courses are lacking lustre, there’s a fair chance they’re not hitting the mark in one of these four areas.

If you resonate with the common struggles below, the solutions will give you hope!

There is a way forward and the solutions aren’t as complicated as you might think.

Connect

If you don't know your team well enough (how they learn, why they're in the room, or what they actually need from the session), there's a fair chance they'll disengage, and you'll be faced with blank stares, low attendance or poor feedback scores.

Click here for the solution →

Instead, get clear on realistic expectations, understand what your people actually need, and tailor the session to fit your audience — whether that's frontline staff, executives or a mixed room. Design for universal engagement.

Construct

If your content doesn't follow best practice structure, your team may lose motivation to pay attention, end up confused, or be unsure what to actually do with the information back at their desk.

Click here for the solution →

Instead, systemise your expertise so your team stays motivated, understands exactly what they're meant to walk away with, and has the confidence to apply it in a real workplace scenario.

Communicate

If you're talking at your team, expecting them to sit, listen and retain information, you'll lose them — no matter how senior or expert your audience is.

Click here for the solution →

The way to keep them engaged is to build rapport, create a psychologically safe space, ask questions, and guide them through a session where they're building on what they already know and are confident applying it back in the workplace.

Critique

If you're delivering the same training or briefing year in, year out without acting on feedback, you'll end up delivering stale content that shows its age and lack of relevance to your current team.

The alternative is to commit to continuous improvement; reviewing your approach, materials and delivery techniques as regularly as your organisation itself changes.

"A teacher affects eternity: he can never tell where his influence stops."

What can you expect from this workshop?

What will we learn? How will our presentations and meetings change if we do this workshop?

Throughout this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Connect with your team to maximise engagement:
Discover how to identify and adapt to your team’s unique needs and working styles. Learn to build rapport quickly and foster an environment of trust and engagement. You’ll walk away with strategies for tailoring your approach to different colleagues, clients or stakeholders, ensuring everyone feels included and ready to participate actively.

  • Structure sessions for maximum engagement: Learn how to design and deliver content in a way that captures attention and keeps it. We’ll dive deep into techniques like chunking content, posing questions, and using interactive elements that help your audience stay engaged and retain information longer. The goal is to shift away from passive presentations and meetings, and to create dynamic sessions that hold the interest of even the most time-poor, distracted team.

  • Communicate in a way that guides and ignites (rather than lectures): Leave behind the traditional “sage on the stage” model and adopt more effective ways of engaging your audience; whether that’s in a team meeting, a client briefing or an executive presentation. Learn how to use storytelling, questioning, and other interactive techniques to spark curiosity and discussion. We’ll show you how to foster a two-way dynamic where you’re guiding and empowering your audience instead of just talking at them.

  • Diagnose what went wrong when a session doesn’t land: Not every presentation , meeting or training session goes perfectly. Sometimes the content doesn’t land, or the room isn’t engaged. This workshop will teach you how to troubleshoot and adapt in real time, with practical methods for diagnosing common challenges.

How can the workshop be varied to solve different problems in an organisational context?

Here are a few variations we’ve created, however the possibilities are endless – it could be adapted for any corporate or organisational training context:

  • Making the most of an intercultural learning environment (for organisations with a diverse workforce):
In a multicultural environment, understanding and embracing cultural differences can greatly enhance the learning experience. This variation of the workshop focuses on how to navigate intercultural communication, address the needs of a diverse audience, and make your teaching more accessible and inclusive to all. Learn how to create a culturally responsive approach that helps bridge gaps and fosters mutual respect, resulting in a more effective and cohesive learning environment.

  • Making the most of your existing learning resources (for organisations seeking to upgrade a specific presentation or online course):
If you already have existing learning materials but aren’t sure how to improve them, this variation will show you how to elevate what you have. I’ll work with you directly to optimise your current presentation, workshop or e-learning modules to make them more engaging, impactful, and relevant to your audience. This includes the creation of facilitator notes, training manuals, worksheets, and assessments as needed.

  • Tailored workshops for specific organisations and needs:
The beauty of this workshop is its adaptability. We have adapted this workshop for lecturers struggling in a multicultural vocational learning environment, corporates updating executive training on insider trading, and government departments looking to improve train driver education and community engagement strategies. We can tailor the workshop content to fit the specific context and challenges your organisation is facing – in fact this is why this workshop packs the punch it does – it’s never the same workshop twice. Open the next box to see how these variations can work.

Can it be tailored for my organisation?

Yes, this workshop can be tailored to your specific needs.

Session Highlight

Where this workshop is one of many options at a conference style event, it is often the session that is the most popular. One event needed to duplicate the session due to the waitlist being twice as long as the number of participants that could fit in the room. At one event with 300 attendees, 220 chose Maria’s workshop over all other options.

Amazing work, full of enthusiasm and your willingness to share your learning.

Sunil

I will never look at presentation slides the same way again! Completely changed the way I put a slide deck together.

Malena

Such a great interactive day of learning and relearning. Your passion and enthusiasm is infectious.
